At work, long story, but I am sending the shitty ring for a second opinion.
Then I can tell him to get fucked.
At home with the mango trees;
The asshole turned up at 5:45am, and wanted to go ahead, I said no way, we want legal papers to say what we expect, and what we expect to be done with regard to fixing the issues with the fence, and replacing the trees.
We said Thursday, but we can't see our legal guy till Friday at this stage. So he will have o wait till then I guess. He won't be happy about the wait, but at this point, I do not give a toss.
Now. Some FANTASTIC news.
A assistant managers job will be coming up in late May. I have to apply, but hopefully I have a good shot at getting it.
I will talk to my manager tomorrow, and then the regional. But fingers crossed I get it. I would be a big step up, and a HUGE pay rise.
Wish me luck tomorrow.

Ever had one of those days?
It started with a bad hair morning.
Then, we had nothing but returns for the first two hours at work.
Then, this guy, who had already yelled at me once about a 4 year old ring (that is totally out of warranty, and had been assessed as having lost it's stone due to wear and tear ;read she got a claw caught and lost the stone) calls and asks what's happening. I told him that the jeweller said it was wear and tear, and the ring had likely gotten caught causing the stone to be lost.
Well. He *lost* it. Told me he was going to the ACCC (consumer affairs) the news papers, that I was a mole, cunt, bitch... You get the picture.
He was an asshole.
I rang him back after I had calmed down, and offered to have the work done at cost. That still wasn't good enough, and he started on me again. So I hung up.
It got slightly better from there.
But. I got a phone call from DH. The dude next door wants to sub divide his property, and put a second house on it. Cool. But he has to go through our property to do it.
So, we say, yeah okay, provided we have proof that you are fully insured in the event of damage to our property, and we are adequately compensated for cutting down a mature mango tree in the yard, and the puling down of the fence.
So he calls DH today, and tells him that he would like to have the trees (both of our 20 year old fruit baring mango trees, not just one) cut down tomorrow. DH says, uhh no, it was only supposed to be one, and, where is the written agreement that we were supposed to have. He dodged that, and told DH rather than paying to have the fence put back up, and having the trees replaced, he will give us $200.
Umm. I don't know where he lives, but where I come from, $200 is NOT going to replace 2 fully grown mango trees, and put up a new fence.
So I called him. What a fucking pig. As god as the asshole this morning. Calling me little lady, and telling me that the men had agreed, and that I will do as I am told.
So. Yeah. My day sucked.
I will call the police if tree loppers turn up tomorrow. I don't fucking care if I have to take the day off and chain myself the the fucker.
Sigh.
/rant.

Oh. My.
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,25089795-421,00.html
GOODNA couple Josh Brennan and Leanne Rowe were supposed to celebrate their dream wedding on the Gold Coast yesterday.
But instead of toasting their future together, they were preparing for the funeral for their four-year-old daughter, Yolanda.
She was supposed to be their flower girl, but Yolanda's young life ended in minutes on Friday night, the eve of their wedding day, when she drowned in a pool at the Burleigh Palms Resort, The Sunday Mail reports.
The little girl was found face down alone on the bottom of the pool at about 8.30pm.
"She was a girl's girl. Bubbly and bright, loud and outgoing," a relative told The Sunday Mail.
"The family is not holding up so good. Everybody's loss of life is a tragedy. When it's a child it's hard to fathom and comprehend.
"It is bad enough without being on your wedding day. It's something you read about and say, 'How did that happen?'," the relative said.
I sold this couple their wedding rings on Monday. They were happy to be getting married, for their kids to be involved in the wedding.
Now their baby girl is gone. I saw the story (without the names) this morning, and I mentioned to DH that this family sounded like the one I had in the store on Monday. I got home this afternoon, and a quick google search brought this up. I cried so hard for that family this afternoon. I cannot imagine what they are going through.
Think of them at this awful time.

Why
Is jewellery insurance so fucking expensive?
I mean, I know you stand a higher chance of being robbed, getting it lost, or whatever than, say having it burn down, but give me a fucking break here. I am not paying what they are asking for coverage on my jewellery.
Time to start looking around at other insurance co's.

My new baby!
A 1.47ct trillion cut Parti sapphire from Northern NSW.
(wipes drool and slobber off keyboard before going on)
It will be bezel set in a halo of diamonds, and maybe a split shank. I am also toying with the idea of pave set sapphires down the shank. Ohhh! I can't wait!
(but in the mean time, I am having this ring reset with pink sapphires)

Long time no blog
It seems like the only time I blog these days is when something goes wrong.
Not this time folks.
I promised well before Christmas to post pics of the anniversary ring DH brought for me (using *my* staff discount, at my store....)
Well, here it is (please ignore the fact that it is dirty... I did clean it Friday afternoon before I left work, but, alas, it has been a busy weekend).
He has redeemed himself for that little faux pas by having this designed and made for me. Loosely based on the Tiffany and Co. circles pendant

Rather than totally knocking off the Tiff & Co. pendant, he had "I am my beloveds, and my beloved is mine" engraved across the two rings. It's fantastic I love it. One billion points to the DH sitting in the naughty corner. I am a sucker for a custom made piece.
Don't I look just thrilled? LOL!
I can't remember where I promised to post pics of my charm bracelet, so I will do it here. I *LOVE* my bird, my elephants (all 3 of them) the crown, and the hearts. The glass beads will be replaced in due time. As soon as something I like better comes in, they will be handed down to my SIL.

And just for fun...
Borg Kitteh!
(he had his eyes checked by the vet when he had his ball-scetomy, it's fine, just a bit odd. It fits his personality)
Till next time.
