Well. Actually. You should. Because I paid for it!
I brought a Mac. Rather than going through a shop front like I tried to do last time, I ordered through Apple.com.
So my MacBook is sitting in receiving in Sydney somewhere ready to be delivered to me sometime tomorrow (Monday) or the day after New Years Day (the 2nd)
I am trying not to get too excited after last years debacle (Some will remember it, I tried to buy a MacBook, but it all went tits up, and The Mac Doctors - the company I shopped through - failed to put my order in AFTER taking our money. 8 weeks later, and a Visa dispute later, we had our money back, and a sour taste in our mouths, but no Mac)
Hopefully this time, it will all work out well, and I will have a new toy, uhm, I mean fancy, smancy computer.

I hope we all had a wonderful Christmas!
I hope Santa brought you everything you hoped for!
Christmas 2007 was as wonderful as I had imagined it could be. We had a great time with the family, and got to watch our boy open his presents excitedly at 2am on Christmas morning (after getting home from midnight mass) so we could all sleep in.
Christmas day was lazy, lazy LAZY! We sat around and ate, and sat around some more. A good time was had by all.
Boxing Day was spent buying up big at the post Christmas sales (I will feely admit to spending too much money on clothes and shoes - But the deals were too good to pass up! After all, I NEED new clothes!)
Today I got to try out my new lawn mower that Santa brought me. And DH got to test out his weed eater. Our lawn never looked so good! And I haven't been this sun burned in a LONG time!!
While DH and I worked our asses off outside, DS enjoyed his Nintendo DS and the games he brought at the post Christmas sales with his Christmas money (he did really wee... He got roughly $100 from his Nanna's and Aunty)
I will post some photos later...

It's not Christmas till I have pissed off the cats
While I was out shopping yesterday, I found cat sized Santa hats and oufits.
Lucky and Fluffy were less than impressed. I think they may want to kill me in my sleep now.

At goal = No internet connection?
I find it really, really odd when people say (in a thread I post in no less, with my details in the signature line stating I am AT GOAL, I do get the feeling I am being ignored, lmao) "They are thin and out having a good time. They don't need our support anymore. They are out there living the good life." or something like that (although that was a direct quote).
Ssssshhhhhhh... Don't tell the "Goal Police". I still have my internet connection. And I haven't been sent the memo that I am no longer allowed at support sites any more due to my status.
ROFLMAO
When people say "They are out living life" it really sounds to me like they are saying living life = no internet connection. Like the second you get to gaol you forget that the internet ever existed... It just strikes me as wrong because, I AM living life (I checked my pulse, I am still alive), have a very active social life, am busier that I have ever been, and I still get online...
It's just weird. That's all. I will never understand that little theory.

Christmas photo of the Midget Man and his Mummy!

(I like this one best)

I brought a couple of Santa hats just before, so we wore them in the photo, no Santa! They were super cool about it, although Santa looked mighty pissed off about having to get off his ass... And he did make some comment about how he wouldn't have minded having me on his lap, so I replied with, I have a dirty old man at home to sit on if that's what I desire. The girls taking the photos and sorting payment just about died laughing.

Yeah. I thought it was over too.
I just got a call from "Best" magazine in the UK. Apparently my story got sold to them to print, and they called to "Check the story" before going to print.
I am a bit pissed off that I got put on the spot like that with no forewarning at all. 8.30 at night, my kid is at me to play Operation with him, the husband has just walked through the door, and I am getting him some dinner and the phone rings.
Ugh. I am not good interview material at the best of times.
At least I got to fix a few things that were wrong with the story before it goes to print in the UK. I'd rather it didn't go to print again....
But there is nothing I can do. Take 5 owns the story. I sold it to them along with my soul it appears.
Linky-poo to the original story (you have to scroll down a bit)

Oh, and before I forget!
Brought new scales the other day. Groovy one's with body fat % and hydration level and such.
Anyway.... It says I have a whopping 13.5% body fat. Now I don't know just how much stock I would put into something I stand on to tell me how much fat I have on my bones, but even if it's 5% out, it's still fucking awesome considering I came from over 55% BF.
That is all.

5 days, 10 hours to go!
I am so ready for Christmas to be over and done with.
The current plan (because plans always change...) is to go to my Mother's in the morning on Christmas Eve and exchange gifts, come home, hang out for a bit, wait for DH to get home, get ready to go out to dinner with the in-laws.
At about 6.30ish I am going to do some family shots of SIL' clan, then at about 7 we go to dinner. After dinner, we will all go for a ride in one of our buses to look at Christmas lights, then head to Church for Midnight Mass.
We will likely get home around 2am, so we plan on letting DS open his gifts so we can sleep in (don't tell DS, we have been telling him he has to wait till DH and I get up after our sleep-in. Why yes. We are mean! Thank you!)
Christmas brekky will be pancakes and fruit salad for me, bacon and eggs for the guys. Lunch, I have no idea yet, dinner will be lamb roast and roast veggies for the guys, and something else for me. I have no idea what to make for desert.
After dinner we will play the board game we got as a family present (I am yet to buy one. I am thinking maybe Jenga?)
So that's the plan. Now watch it go to shit.

Shopping with the midget man
DS needed a new outfit (For Christmas Eve with the family...)
He picked it out all on his own. What can I say, the kid has style!
He loves the tie (much to my surprise... I thought he would hate it, but what do I know, right?) And the fedora "Finishes the look off, Mum!" So he just had to have it.
(Wiping the tears from the corner of my eyes) My baby is growing up (sinff)

Oh, but I had a great time yesterday!
The Nutcracker was a real treat. The Queensland Ballet Company is awesome beyond belief, and if they perform The Nutcracker again next year, I will be dragging the husband and kid along.
MIL and I got dolled up for the occasion, and the family had to get a few pics of us (and themselves with us) before we went.

Because taking MIL to the ballet was part of her Christmas present, she gave me part of mine (She is such a sweetheart, I mentioned once, in passing that I neede to buy a new bottle of Wish at some point, and she remembered, and brought me one!)
I am far more impressed than I look, I swear!
And the Christmas lights tour went off well. We had a blast looking at the purdy lights and watching the fireworks. We got home at 2am, after leaving the house at 11am.
I am so buggered now.

Never work for friends or family
Because they expect unrealistic crap (like emailing you vague descriptions of photos, totally ignoring the assigned number on the BACK of the proof, and expecting you to be able to get them printed within 24 hours)
Just sayin'

Hiya Kids!
I haven't been around (contrary to popular belief I do have a life! Amazing, I know!!)
So, here is a really quick update;
Wednesday I spent the day organising party food for DS's class break party on Thursday (Apparently I am the only parent with half a brain, and can make some healthy food)
Thursday I celebrated my 10th wedding anniversary (use your imagination).
Friday I spent the day shopping (a real hardship. I was shattered that I *had* to buy clothes and shoes , LMAO)
And today, Saturday, DH and I went for a 5km run (he managed 5k in 38 minutes, I am *so* proud of him!!) and I am taking MIL to the ballet to see The Nutcracker.
And tonight DH and I are hosting a Christmas lights tour on one of our buses. So I am going to have a wild stab in the dark and say that Sunday I will spend lounging about in my jammies.
Everyone is still alive and well, and what more could I ask for? (Yeah. Lot's I know, world peace, an end to starvation, a new designer wardrobe, endless shoes, hair that behaves)

A game! Eight Obscure Things About Me.
The Rules:
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and that they should read your blog.
Eight Obscure Things About Me:
1. I hate camping. Fucking loathe it. Seriously. I would poke me eyes out before camping.
2. I fart and blame the kid (and get away with it) Oh. And for the first 6 months DH and I were married, I had him convinced that women don't fart. He almost died when I farted loud and proud one day.
3. I am actually a Christian! I know! Just because I talk like a trucker and have the sex drive of a tom cat doesn't mean I am not religious.
4. Despite spending a lot of money on clothes (and shoes, and jewellery, and make up, and perfume) I am actually very cheap. I don't like spending a lot of money. And if something isn't right, I am not shy in asking for my money back.
5. I don't like swimming. Water gets into my nose and upsets my sinuses for days after.
6. I am not a veggie because I love the fluffy-wuffy animals. I am a veggie because I prefer the food. And because growing up I always wanted to be a veggie. I really don't know why I wanted it, actually. But I love it. It suits me.
7. I am enjoying being a parent now, more than I ever did when DS was younger. Maybe it's that I am far more mature now, or maybe I just like older kids better. I don't know.
8. I check the weather patterns every day, and actually very interested in meteorology.
I tag Jodi as the next to play.

Alternate rules after WLS
Oh, my! I almost wet my pants laughing (sign of a weak bladder, or laughing too hard - you decide)
Alternate rules after WLS
1. Assume you are different, and what works for the successful people doesn’t or won’t work for you.
2. Make excuses. For everything. Tell everyone you know how your predicament isn’t your fault.
3. Don’t exercise. You are a busy person and don’t have time. Besides, you hate it.
4. End every excuse-filled sentence with “I must be doing something right, I’m still losing weight.”
5. Test the limits of your surgery. Overeat. Graze.
6. Eat sugar. You can get used to a little nausea.
7. Eat bread, rice, potatoes & pasta. You shouldn’t have to deprive yourself of anything.
8. Fall for the packaging and advertising gimmicks. “All natural” means it’s good for me, right?
9. Whine. Think and talk about all the things you have to give up. Dwell on them.
10. Take the cheapest vitamins you can find. Stop taking them after a year because you are tired of the routine.
11. Don’t follow any advice or directions from your surgeon or anyone else. You know best.
12. Eat that holiday candy. It would be a shame for it to go to waste.
13. Don’t use your pouch. Try diet pills instead.
14. Forget protein. It tastes bad. Bring on the sandwiches!
15. Don’t educate yourself. Just follow your doctors blindly.
16. Drink soda. Preferably with meals. It’s just too hard not to drink something for that half hour three times a day.
17. Smoke. You’re an adult and you have that right.
18. Eat everything offered to you when visiting others. You wouldn’t want to hurt their feelings.
19. Drink alcohol. Daily. You have earned the right to enjoy yourself.
20. Be content with losing 50% of your excess. Losing the other 50% is too much work, and you didn’t do this to have to be on a diet for the rest of your life.
I can't take credit for writing it. I found it here

ROFLMAO
I had to fix a compatibility issue with a game on DS's computer.He was so impressed with how quickly and effortlessly I fixed it he said;
"You know Mum, you're not just a pretty face"
It took every thing I had not to burst into uncontrollable laughter.

Eck.
I am trying to change my running schedule. I want to be running in the cooler evening rather than the hot and or humid mornings. But every morning I get up, was my face, tie my hair back and put my running gear on. It's force of habit. Then I remember that I am trying to go for a run at night.
Then I sit down (still in my running gear) and have a coffee. Feeling bad that I am not running (like I am now, sitting here, all dressed up with no where to run) But I know that I will go for my run tonight, when I will be more comfortable (and not sweating buckets and almost passing out from dehydration)
Old habits die hard.

Baby... It's hot outside!
After a few weeks or really lovely mild weather, we have had a couple of days of stinking hot, humid 33 degree C days.
I am not enjoying this.
Do. Not. Want.
(LOLcat lovers will get that)
Seriously. It's so fucking humid that my naturally curly hair has become a naturally boofy afro. It's not cool.
And I realised today that I am no longer young and hip.
That was a slap in the face (yeah, I laughed too... I have a kid as tall as I am, been married 10 years, and I *just* realised I'm not young any more ROFLMAO)
But it's not really a problem. Because it appears to be young and hip, you must wear shorts so short, that if you were to bend over, your gyno could do his exam, and never, ever, ever wear a bra. So I think being old and crusty has it's appeal.

Felling all nostalgic!
I need to go shopping for
Frosty Returns and The Little Drummer Boy
I'd love to see The Cabbage Patch Kids Christmas Special, Or A very Smurfy Christmas. But I just don't think I can get them on DVD.
I think Elf would be a good one for the kid. He is old enough to get the humor in it, and in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. So they will be fun to watch too.
We are almost done painting the verandah rails, and I promised the kid if we got the painting done, we could put up lights. So I am going to buy them today, and when the kid gets home, we can finish off the painting and hang the lights tonight!
DS is going to write out Christmas cards for all of his school mates in the next couple of days, and tape a candy cane to each one... And we brought a tea towel, some body lotion and shower gel that he has to wrap and give to his teacher.
I can't believe that we only have a week and a half left of school! Then 6 whole weeks of holidays!
I have to say, I have been so relaxed, and happy this holiday season. It's really awesome. I am actually enjoying it. I usually run around like a headless chicken. Even with the present changes DS has requested, I have rolled with the punches, and just got on with it without any major drama.
Why were past Christmases stressful, and this one hasn't been?

Living on protein shakes?
How can this be done. Really.
I see so often people crapping on about how normally they eat, then on a "What do you eat" type thread they list 3 protein shakes a day, and very little in the way of "real" food.
This disturbs me. Why are people so keen to deprive themselves of food. Is it that they think they will lose quicker if they don't eat?
There is one lady on the boards who HAS starved the weight off. Now that she only has 20lbs to get to her goal weight, she plans on losing that 20lbs in a month (a MONTH!!), and having an unfill.
That is just crazy. She is destined for massive regain.
Why? Because starvation only lasts for so long. Liquid diets only last for so long. People get sick of not eating. It takes a special type of will power to NOT eat for the rest of your life. And when they go back to eating "normally" (normal is usually over processed junk, no one learns about nutrition while starving themselves) they gain most, if not all of the weight back.
And people just don't seem to get that what they are doing NOW to lose the weight, is what they will have to do later to maintain the loss. I don't bother pointing this out on a regular basis, because I am unpopular as it is. But Damm. I would love to know how some of these people tick. What is the thought process behind starving yourself to malnutrition in the name of skinny.

The kid has hijacked my computer
And get to use the shitty old laptop... Hold me...
I forgot how much I hate laptop keyboards. Talk about cramped!
This is the angel I brought for us;
Isn't she pretty? (I like earthy looking shit) I brought one for each of my in-laws and one for my mother with different colour dresses (red, orange and green).
Ahh. It's been a good day.
Burning ginger cookies, singing loudly and badly to 80's music, pissing the cat off and sitting on my ass.
Good times. This is what Christmas is about.
I did get a batch of lemon and passionfruit shortbread out that didn't burn! They are pretty tasty too.
(this is what was left after DS had at them! They must be ok I guess!)
We had a lentil pizza for dinner. I was so fucking awesome. Just. So. Fucking. Good. Words cannot describe the awesome-ness that is lentil pizza.
Lentil pizza:
½ cup hummus
1 tablespoon Moroccan seasoning
1 x 20cm pizza base (I used Bazzar breads pizza base)
1 cup zucchini ribbons (use potato peeler to make ribbons)
1/3 cup drained brown lentils
½ cup sliced button mushrooms
½ cup roasted red capsicum, cut into thin strips
½ cup shredded pizza cheese
½ cup baby rocket leaves
1 very small onion quartered
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
METHOD:
1. Roast capsicum with the onion, oil and garlic in a preheated oven at 200ÂșC .
2. Combine hummus and Moroccan seasoning; spread over pizza base. Top with zucchini, drained brown lentils, mushrooms and capsicum then sprinkle with pizza cheese.
3. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is just starting to turn golden and the pizza base is crisp.
3. Top with rocket leaves and serve with a side of tabouleh (just store brought stuff from Woolies, I am too lazy to make tabouleh!).
Even the kid ate it without too much complaining! A winner! (I did bribe him with a banana split for afters. I had dried figs with goats cheese in ash *wipes drool from corner of mouth*)
Never let it be said that a banded individual has to live on fucking protein shakes. Eat. For the love of all things tasty. Eat.

Oh Pen!
On Martha...
My DH says there is something evil in that woman. That's why he likes her. He says I am just like her... Cute on the outside... Black on the inside.
I will keep an eye out on your blog. I need idea's to keep the short man entertained over the week before Christmas (I don't plan on going out unless I have to, the roads are scary the week before Christmas)

24 days till Christmas
Holy CRAP!
I just came home from doing my weekly food shop (on budget for the first time EVAH!) With a DS (and other crap to go along with it) Several Barbies (for my niece) stocking stuffer's for the in-laws (really pretty tree angles made from a hippy shop $3 each! And so pretty) And I plan on taking the kid out to buy these cute cotton jammies for me, and an espresso coffee pot for one for DH on Monday (our gifts from DS to us. We gave him a $20 budget for each parent)
I have ballet tickets and a nice vase for MIL, western DVD's for FIL, PJ's for my mother, and all I have to do is buy something for DH, and start on baking cookies and I am DONE!
I also found a simple, pretty black dress at Portmans for $89. I was going to buy it when the chick said, "Oh, it's only $59... And if I was to put it away till Thursday, it would only be $44.25 with the 15% off sale we are having between 5 and 9pm... Shall I put it away for you?" Hell YES! So I go back Thursday for that dress.
Woo-hoo! All with 24 days to go! I feel like fucking super woman!
I might actually have time to enjoy Christmas this year.
