Holy Shit! Some people DO suck!

Went shopping for food today (as you do) got to the checkout, the checker squashed my paw paw, and cherries with the milk bottles. I told her they were now squished, and she offered to put them in a new bag. I said "why bother? they are squashed already"

So I pay with my ATM card, put in my pin and so on.. It's all done, and she hands me the docket, says goodbye and without looking at it I jam it into my handbag. I walk out.

I get to my car, and I get this chick call out REALLY loudly "You STOLE those groceries! You didn't pay!" and the security guard who is with her grabs my arm!

I pulled away from him and insist that I did pay, and that I had the docket in my handbag. By this stage, everyone in the car park is standing around just watching this unfold.

I dive into my handbag, and pull out the docket I was handed, and looked at it for the first time. It is an offline transaction slip (the type they print out when the ATM lines are down, and they have you sign them)

I had it to the chick, and she says, that didn't go through. I said, I think it did, I just need to sign this. She humphs, and says "do you have a pen" Naturally Joseph has taken the pen out of my handbag to draw his Star Wars comic he is working on, and hasn't put it back.

I say, no I don't have one. She says, well come back into the store then. The guard under his breath says "yeah, then I can detain you"

I say, no I don't think so. If I have to I will buy a pen at the newsagent. So I buy the pen, sign the paper, show her my ATM card so she can match the signature, and say "Can I go now?" She says "Yeah I guess" The guard says "we could have busted her for shoplifting!"

I get into my car and burst into tears. I have never been so humiliated in my whole life.

Moral of the story? Check your receipts.

Some people suck

I got a call from a woman tonight. She said;

"PCOS is God's way of stopping fat cunt's like you from reproducing, fat people shouldn't try to lose weight, they should just DIE" (this was screamed at me over the phone when I answered)

I passed the callers number on to the police (HELLO FUCKWHITS mobiles typically have caller ID!). And I am changing my number in the morning.

I was also asked at the shop on Friday "Are you that fat chick from that magazine?" I said no and walked away.

I am not sure I can take too much more of this.

Golly! It's wet!

For somewhere that is supposed to be in the middle of the worst drought in history, we sure have had a lot of rain in the last 24 hours. 51.4mm / 2.02 inches to be exact. It is sopping outside.

Well. The 4th interview is over. So, I have had interviews for radio stations in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Tasmania and Queensland.

The only one that was not live to air was the one I did for Hobart, Tasmania, so I have that one recorded (it aired this morning at 7.10am) I uploaded it to Photobucket for your listening pleasure! (FYI, I sound like a dick)

I wish the phone calls would stop. I have had to turn my mobile phone off because of all the bloody calls! It's not that I don't want to help, it's just that it is getting overwhelming.

The Brisbane Show

We had a blast!!

On the roller coaster. DS thought he was going to die.

DIE I tell you!

The look on his face says it all.

DH and DS on the bumper cars. They had so much fun bashing the living shit out of each other.

DS on the haunted house ride (the scariest part of that ride was the $6.50 they charged to ride the dammed thing)

And the veiw from the top of the ferris wheel (you can see the roller coaster we went on to the left hand side of the pic)

And a third interveiw

I did yet another one last night. I honestly never expected this sort of a reaction to my story.

And I got a phone call from a girl who got my name from the story, and found me in the phone book. I was happy to talk to her, but umm.. Should I be worried that people are cold calling me? She was quite nice, don't get me wrong... But I am still a little freaked out. And I was in the middle of yelling at the kid for something (I forget exactly what now) So I had to go from screaming to a nice happy person. I felt like a fraud. Seriously.

Make that 2 radio interviews

I have another one on Monday now. This thing is kinda snowballing.

Trying this AGAIN

A viewable copy is on my web page;

She got things wrong. Like for one, I was never almost 150kg. Close on 145kg? Hell yeah. And no way in hell am I ever running a 42.2km MARATHON. I am running, swimming and biking a TRIATHLON. I did correct her on those things, and my height a number of times, but, I guess, you can never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Right?

Overall I am happy enough with the story. I will be happier when I have the money in my hand, and I can buy my new studio lights! LMAO

Good Lord.

I just got a call from the magazine... They were contacted by a radio station... They want to interview me!

Oh, My! I DO have to go out and get this magazine and find out what is that was so impressive!

Ohh.... 9am is not too far away!

I am going out to get that magazine at 9am. I promise I will scan it and post it.

Oh, and it was a year ago TODAY that I had my tummy tuck! Happy Birthday to my new belly!

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear BEELLLYYY........
Happy birthday to you!

I will post pics later!

(and yes, I am sad and pathetic, but I embrace it)

So I am giving the new glasses a chance...

I am liking them a little more. Only a little, lol!

I did talk to the guys about contacts though. They said they would order in a trial pair (I am taking that to mean free) and we will see how I go. It would be nice to be able to go without glasses every now and then.

They do look better when I am not pulling a "fuck, I HATE these glasses" type face.

I am stressing a little less about the article. What will be, will be, right? I have told no one in the lap banding community about the story, so it will be interesting if any of the Aussies make the connection, and realise that Chickie from LBT is the same Samantha from Take 5 magazine.

And to tell the truth, a big part of the reason I am giving the new glasses a fair go is, I look different in the new glasses. They are far less distinctive than the old ones, and I am hoping that fewer people will recognise me.

Oh! And I brought the cutest new shoes!! Drop side, kitten heel with a small pointed toe! Oh, they are to die for!! And at only AUD$89.95 a pair, I might just go back for the tan pair. (forgive the mirror shot)

And just for fun... The kid taking a photo of me, taking a photo of him...

The countdown begins

Now I am stressing over the article being published. Worrying that I have done the wrong thing allowing it to go to print.

The journalist had a few of the details wrong, and I corrected her a couple of times, but she kept making the same mistakes (my age, height, start weight, and my weight now, all big deals as these things go)

I am yet to see the draft before it goes to the typesetter... I am just so, so worried. I actually have a wave of anxiety when I think about it. What the hell have I gotten myself into? Can I hide for a few weeks? People forget this sort of thing quickly, right?

The new glasses. What do YOU think?

I can't help it. I hate them. I really do.

Please ignore the bra straps and zits.

The old ones (which I love)

The new (I really do dislike them)

So. Your opinion?

Before and afters of ou reno's

So in Feburary this year we had some work done.

A new deck. Before (but after they took the staris off) and after;

From the top of the new stairs;

The entry. We had a wall put up between the two windows to make the room smaller, and more useful. As it was before it was an odd shape, and just not all that useful. Now I have an entry and a study off the living room.

After;
The entry.

We ended up putting shelves up in the alcove (it was bloody useless before) and now we just have to find some hat and coat hook we like to put up between the top shelf and the middle shelf.

And the study.

What we ended up with was two better shaped, more useful rooms. Now I just have to paint (or hire someone to do it)

And just for fun.

Lucky. Fresh from rolling around in the dirt (I love that little booger)

Ok. So I overreact! What of it??

The article comes out on the 15th.

It's not 110% as I would have liked it to be, but I *am* a control freak.

overall I am pretty happy with the story. Now I just have to wait till the 15th to see it in print...

Jodi! I shall send you a copy the day it comes out! And I am so sorry I haven't caught up with you of late... I miss our chats!

Much love to everyone!

Ok. Am I old fashioned?

I am a stay at home mum. I do do a little book keeping for my DH here and there, but nothing much really.

I believe that it is my job, as the partner without obligations outside the home, to do all the housework (childcare,laundry, cleaning, shopping cooking and so on)

I am being told that women should expect help around the house from their husbands, despite them working for up to (in my DH's case anyway) 70 hours a week.

How the fuck is that fair? I only have one kid (a kid who is almost 11 by the way... He looks after himself a lot at this stage, he is exercising his independence). And the house is spotless within a few hours even if it was a mess when I started.

I just don't get why my DH would have to pitch in after a 14 hour day, when I could have gotten it all done within 2 or 3 hours? (maybe add a bit for cooking and shopping, so maybe 4 hours?)

When I worked full time, we divided housework 50/50, and that was fair, because I worked as much as he did. But I just cannot see how it is fair to be a SAHM, and expect DH to do housework??

Am I just old fashioned?
