I was going through my DS clothes that he has grown out of (my 155cm, 45kg DS), and decided that his old shirts and pants looked almost the same size as mine... So I tried them on.
My 10.6 year old son's clothes fit me!
So whoever it was that said I look like a 12 year old boy was wrong. I am built like a 10.6 year old boy! LMAO

Ok, less like a 12 year old, more like a 10 year old!

Oh, oh, oh! Just to serial blog...
To break away from the consumerism of Christmas, DS and I will be making gifts this year! Fun, huh?
I want this to be the type of stuff he remembers. No one ever really remembers what they got for Christmas back in 1985 (well.... I do recall getting those twin Cabbage Patch Kids in the pink lace dresses I wanted that year... But I digress)
Anyhoo. DS and I will be making banana bread, ginger cookies and short bread cookies for the adults, and stained glass cookies and gingerbread men for his cousins (each gingerbread man will be decorated for each cousin with their name on it)
It will be fun (I hope) and meaningful (again... I hope)
The plan is to spend the days before Christmas cooking and wrapping the cookies in clear wrap, with ribbon and a candy cane on each package.
I also want to make some decorations. I am thinking of these and I am thinking we could also make Christmas cracker/bon bon things (you know, the type you pull apart, and crap falls out?)
Anyway. That's the plan.

Ever noticed....
That people who go into therapy suddenly start to think that everyone has "issues" and that everyone needs therapy?
I wonder why?

Because I can't do it at LBT
Because the coward who created the "Know it all" thread had it closed...
If you feel "Less than successful" when you compare your before and afters with mine. Your fucking problem. Work harder to get what I have, or shut the fuck up. It's not me that's making you feel that way, it's you.
If you think I "Know it all" Maybe I just know more than you. Maybe I have been banded longer than you have, and have figured out a few things along the way. Maybe I paid attention when my doctor spoke. Maybe I took notes. Maybe, if you didn't, it's your problem. Not mine.
Maybe, if you are one of the few who believe that I am "Obnoxious, self righteous and condescending" you are just intimidated by me. Again. Not my fucking problem.
You bitches who bitch and fucking moan about "oldies" and "Know it alls" should have a good look at your jealous selves. Maybe it is something deep within YOU that is making you feel as you do.
Because, honestly, until you start go making ass holes of yourselves, you aren't even a blip on my radar. So stop trying to make YOUR self worth, self image, and self esteem issues mine.

Will this ever end?
The nausea has returned. All I want to do is puke.
I have an appointment with my doc on Wednesday for a follow up on some other crap, but I am not sure I can put up with this bullshit for too much longer. I really do feel crap.
Oh, and lucky me, I think I have a huge cyst on my right ovary. Every time I have gone for a run this week (and even when I am just sitting around), it has burned, and ached in the general ovarian area. I am such a lucky girl!

How I have missed you....
I love they rhythm of running. I love the feeling of my muscles burning, putting on foot in front of the other, the sweat running off my arms, down my back and off my brow... I love the feeling of achievement I get when I have run my best time, or longest run yet... I love the fact that I can do it.

Yay!
I went for a run yesterday! And not a run to the toilet for a change!
8km of pure sweaty bliss.
My husband will be home in an hour, and I will go out for a short run (it's not raining for the first time in a week)
Ahhh.... Running... How I missed you... You really are my lover...

Waaahhhhh
I am *still* not over that virus.
1.2k into my run I got a shocking pain in mah 'po belly... And thankfully I was at home on the treadmill because of the rain, otherwise I would have pooped mah pants.
Feel sorry for me.

The Christmas letter from hell
I am finding it really hard to write this years Christmas letter.
I feel like just bashing my head on the keyboard and hitting "print" and being done with it.
This year wasn't that exciting. We didn't do a lot of "exciting stuff" we just hung out at home, and spent a lot of time together as a family.
Mash head on keyboard. Hit print.
And don't forget to visit The Coffee Clutch if you haven't already! Everyone is welcome!

And because I can't eat
A recipe for you all.
Ricotta cakes.
Makes about 4

2 eggs, beaten
3 teaspoons of sugar
1 250gm (1/2lb) tub of smooth light ricotta

Plain yoghurt to serve
Throw everything together, stir, and spoon into a lined muffin pan.

Sick as a dog
I swear...I must be at lest 5kg lighter.
The nausea that I just assumed was the hormones from getting back on the pill turns out to be a nasty stomach virus.
I have been chained to the toilet all afternoon.
Ass-plosion city.
I would have to get sick today, wouldn't I?
Oh, and my "baby boy" just brought me a cup of tea. Just the way I like it. He is such a good boy.

Dude. I snorted. Farted, then snorted again.

Why is it that when people have been successful at something ie: losing weight with the band, they become the judge and jury of any person who is now coming up behind them. They seem to self proclaim themselves as 'better' than the 'others', in an elite group and in some instances more virtuous than the rest of us. What makes succeeding in weight loss the holy grail, and thus the people who achieve it more perfect, more intelligent and more entitled to an opinion? In my opinion it appears to have made people more obnoxious and self rightious, not to mention condescending.
But as I have not yet attained the 'holy-weight-loss-I-am-without-fault-and-know-everything' badge my opinion probably doesn't count.
I had to laugh. So I did. Then the kid came over read the post, and laughed. Then we looked at each other and collapsed in fits of laughter.
My little smart ass said "Mum, you were always like that, losing weight didn't cause it... You were always obnoxious, self-righteous and condescending"
I so needed that this afternoon.
And while I was looking for something important on my removable HD, I was side tracked by crap that I have collected over my time online. I found this, and thought of my "Girls"

You know what you all mean to me ((Hugs, kisses and pink ponies))
Oh, I still haven't found the document I was looking for. LMAO

I have been meaning to post this for a while...
Moroccan Chick Peas
1 can of plain diced tomatoes
1 can of Moroccan flavoured tomatoes (in Oz you get them in Woolies, if you can't get them, a tablespoon Moroccan spice will do)
1 can of chick peas
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 large onion
2 cloves of garlic
250gm Sweet potato
250gm of zucchini
2 carrots
1/2 cup of sultana's
1 cup of couscous
To save time, I dice the sweet potato, cut the zucchini and onion, and steam them in the microwave.
Then, I dice the onion and garlic and sauté in the olive oil. When the onion is a nice brown colour, I tip in the tins of tomatoes (and spices if needed) and chick pea's. By now the carrot, zucchini and sweet potato are done, throw them all in the pot with the tomatoes, throw in the sultanas, and stir in.
Prepare the couscous to packet direction (you could also use brown rice) and when the couscous is done, dinner is ready!
I love this recipe, because it is really yummy, and takes a total of about 10 minutes to prepare, and 5 to cook. And when I have carnivorous dinner guests, I leave in the chick pea's, but add some diced lamb, chicken or beef. Everyone loves it!

Self doubt, and my DH (and the kid's school photo)
Before DH left for work, we were talking about the GC Marathon. I told him, I don't really know if I can do this. I mean, I am fit, but I will be running for up to 4.5 hours straight. I just don't know...
(This is why I won't be trading him in any time soon ladies) He said that I had run a marathon over the last three years anyway (referring to my weight loss, and everything I have achieved) Why was I worried about 1 day. Not even a day. 4 hours. He told me I am stronger than that, and if I *want* to do it. It will happen.
I burst into (happy) tears and just hugged that man so tight. He has such faith in me. It was all I needed to hear. He will be standing beside me.
When I met DS at the school gate (he is almost a "man" and doesn't like to be picked up at his class now) he had his school photos in hand.
I had to fix the colour. I can't say that I am impressed with the overexposure, the crap on the lens (you can see a speck of something that was on the lens), or the expression. They must have just snapped one or two clicks. Lazy sods. I paid $30 for that. Sigh. Only 4 week of school to go...

Day 1
It has me "resting".
How fucking weird is that? I am glad I managed to get 8km in yesterday, because I would have felt so slack if I hadn't. Although I did manage to get DH's walk up to a nice clip, and we did walk a good 5km. So it's not like I spent the morning on my ass or anything.
It has me running 50 minutes tomorrow. No set distance, just 50 minutes.
I give this a go for a few weeks, and see if it truly is a challenge. Because if it's not, I am sure there are a dozen more guides to running a marathon out there.

I'm not crazy.... Am I?
I spent the best part of an hour last night pouring over the Gold Coast Airport Marathon web site....
I think I'd love to do the 2008 GCA Marathon.
Training plan
I don't think that at my current level of fitness it is totally insane, I think it will be work, but not insane.
The plan has you starting in February, but I think that if I was to start now (ish) I would have a really good feel for my ability to cope with 42.2km. And if I feel I can't cope, there's always the half, or the 10km. So the training won't be in vain.

Running is not glamorous!
And whoever said it was is a LIAR!
This is as good as it gets. Looking slightly crazy, frizzy hair, red face, sweaty, stinky (you can't see that one, but trust me, if *I* can smell me...), tired, exhausted, thrilled, happy and thoroughly satisfied (after 8km).
I am trying to get my daily run up to 8km. This week, I ran 6km Monday - Thursday and today I ran 8km. So I shall see how it goes.
So this is the plan for the week starting Monday 19th of November;
Monday 5km
Tuesday 8km
Wednesday 6km
Thursday 6km
Friday 8km
Weekend, if I feel up to it, an 8 or 10km
Then the week starting Monday 26th November
Monday 6km
Tuesday 8km
Wednesday 6km
Thursday 8km
Friday 7km
Weekend, again, only if I feel up to it, an 8 or 10km
Week starting 3rd December
Monday 8km
Tuesday 7km
Wednesday 8km
Thursday 8km
Friday 8km
Weekend, repeat the above
Week starting 10th December
Monday to Friday 8km daily.
Well, that's the plan anyway.

It's raining again....
We have been in drought for so long, that whenever it rains, I stop and watch the rain... It really is beautiful. Stunning, really.
Anyway, I tried to do our Christmas photos last night. But my backlight decided it was going to blow a bulb. Then it blew the spare... So no backlight. Fucker.
So DH, and DS's hair looks good (being a blond and fair brunette) But me and my close to black hair... It blends into my navy backdrop.

A couple of things I have noticed
In general....
#1 People are not honest with themselves.
Lie to me all you want. Just be honest with YOU. You will get NOWHERE if you are not honest with yourself, and hold yourself accountable for your own actions. They are your own. Embrace them. They are yours. And if you can't your fucked. Simple as that.
#2 I am not a clairvoyant.
Just because I have lost all my weight, doesn't mean that when I got to goal weight someone just appeared out of nowhere and handed me a crystal ball and said "Now you have the power to know if everyone you come in contact with will lose weight!" Not so. I don't have a fucking clue if you will get to goal. I have even less of an idea of what you will l look like when you get there. And No. I don't know if you will need reconstructive surgery. I didn't go to medical school. My only experence with medical type things is in the field of being a patient.
#3 I'm not nice.
Yep. I don't actually care what you do or where you end up if you don't. If you are not interested in fixing your own situation, I am not interested in helping you. Simple. I just don't have time to deal with wankers who sort of, kind of want to lose weight, but not badly enough to do anything beyond getting the band (forget exercise or actually changing their diet! God forbid!)
#4 I am slightly obsessed with running.
Not really a bad thing. Just an observation.
#5 I don't like being called skinny.
I fucking hate it. It grates. Even when it's said with no malice, I still hate it. Skinny implies ill health, and that couldn't be further from the truth. Simple as that. Nothing deep seated, nothing deeper than that. I just don't like what the word implies.
#6 I eat more than most.
Who came up with this 1/4th of a cup bullshit? I would fucking starve to death on 1/4th of a cup. I am eating a muesli bar as I type this (wipes crumbs off keyboard) I eat roughly 1 to 1.5 cups at a sitting, at least 3 x a day. Granted, I am totally unfilled, but fuck... Who the hell can get all the nutrition they NEED on 3x 1/4 th of a cup a day? It actually smacks of anorexic behaviour to me. One extreme to another.
#7 People don't go to doctors for a medical opinion, they go to LBT.
This strikes me as really, really fucking strange. Why the fuck would they ask a bunch of faceless strangers who have no medical training at all, for a medical opinion? Is it because the faceless strangers tell them what they want to hear? Or is it because they really are that fucking stupid that they think that the stranger on the internet knows more than a doctor who trained for close to a decade?

2008
Being that we are close to mid way through November, I thought it was time to start thinking about what I want out of 2008.
On the running front, I am thinking at this stage that I would like to be in these runs;
The Mother's Day Classic (May) The 4km if I can get the DH and kid running, the 8km if it's just me
Ipswich Park2Park (June) 10km
Bridge to Brisbane (June)the 8km... maybe... It was a huge clusterfuck this year...
Gold Coast Half Marathon (July) or the 10km depending on my knee
A run in August if there is one, maybe just a 5km, depending on what's on. I haven't found anything yet
The Bridge Bash (September) I think it's an 8km?
The Jacaranda Festival Run (October) 10km
DS will be in year 6 next year (scary shit, my baby is almost in high school) and he is needing more an more support in terms of school, and general guidance. Just the usual parenting shit, but it appears he needs more and more from me as he gets older. So I can't go back to work full time yet, but I am planning a bit of freelance work for next year. I already have a wedding booked for the 2nd of Feb, and I have a couple of people wanting family shit done, so we will see what happens there.
We are going to need to build a Granny flat for MIL this year. FIL is getting to the stage where she will be unable to look after him, and will have to put him in a care facility, if he doesn't leave us first.
Either way, she is coming to live with us. We live in a high set house, so building in under the house will be perfect for her. She can have her privacy, and we can have ours. So I am going to have to get cracking on that before t he new year, get quotes and prices.. Fun. At least it wont be as intrusive as when we had work done earlier this year. We had builders in the house every day. They will just be downstairs this time.
I do plan on going back to church. In Australia we have the Uniting Church, it's what was the Methodist and Presbyterian church. They united in the 70's, doing away with the Metho's and Presby's.
Anyway, that is the church I was married in, and had DS baptised but of late I haven't been impressed with the politics within the church, and less than impressed with their choice of ministers (One of DH's nieces is about to become our local minister, and she is the last fucking person I would go to for spiritual guidance!) and even less impressed with the (lack of) support they are offering the kids in the church.
So I am giving very, very serious consideration to converting to Catholicism. My IL's all have the horrors about this, but fuck 'em. They just don't want DH to convert too. They don't give a shit about me, or DS. To them it looks bad to have so many ministers in the family, then have my DH convert.
The local catholic church seems like it has a real community feel about it, lots of support for the kiddo's, ladies groups, and family events all the time. I guess that's what I am looking for, aside from the spiritual aspect, a community.
I don't know yet. I guess I need to put some prayer into it, and talk it all out with DH.

I am SO in love
With my Nano.
Best fucking thing I ever did was kill my shuffle (apparently they don't like water. Who knew?)
I only ended up getting the 4gig model in silver, because I am cheap. But golly. The best $200 I have spent in a while.
I am going out Monday morning for the Nike + thingo to go in my shoe (I am in Nike Air Structure Trax+10's that take the iPod receiver)
What's funny though, is no one has the arm bands for them, or the covers!! I am fucking pissed. Because the first thing the kid did when he touched it was dropped it denting the fucker. I am not pissed at the kid, because, lets face it, it will be his when I upgrade to the 8gig model in that funky purple colour I have decided I want, but pissed at the shops I tried to buy the cover and armband at. Fuckers. How dare they not have what I want, when I want it?
Do they not know who I am?
Do *I* know who I am?
What is the meaning of life?

So, why DO I run?
I got asked "Why do you run?" today. Being the sarcastic cunt I am, I said that I enjoy being ogled by lecherous truck and taxi drivers.
But, really. Why DO I run?
I love the way I finally have control of my body. I am strong enough to do it, physically and mentally (it does take mental strength, believe it or not) and the way I feel after a good long run is second only to an orgasm.

I realised something.
I am an amazing, strong, smart, beautiful, funny woman, who is a fantastic mother, fab wife & lover, caring daughter and daughter in law, thoughtful sister and sister in law, wonderful auntie and an all round good person.
I fucking ROCK!

A busy weekend!!
Wow, being mum to 4 kids between the ages of 12 and 9 is HARD work!
The weekend with my SIL's boys went off without incident. They had a fantastic time going swimming, playing on the playstation, watching DVD's and decorating Christmas baubles.
It was non stop cleaning, feeding and driving. I have the utmost respect for anyone with more than one kid. I don't know how you all do that day in and day out.
They did help me put up the Christmas tree, and it looks amazing. I snapped a few pics of them. the focus isn't brilliant, I couldn't find my glasses, and it LOOKED like I had the focus right, and there is a lot of noise due to the ISO being up too high. So I am not happy with them, but the kids looked cute, my backdrop looked fab (the smurf hands were worth it) and my tree looks beautiful...
Mr Almost 13
Mr Just - Turned 11
My DS (He's not stoned, I swear, he just looks like it after swimming all day)
Mr Almost 10
The one's I got of all of them together were pure shit. So there is not point in posting them, lets just say, fab pose, cute kid's but shit focus and light.
I do plan on doing some Christmas photo's of our family, BIL and SIL's family and MIL & FIL and putting them in a 3 cell frame and having each of the families hold a letter of the word "Joy" or maybe "Peace Hope and Love" I have decided yet, and it depends on what I can come up with.

Humm.
I think I lost my temper because people like Bella from LBT are justifying their weight (which is a okay with me, be what you wanna be, and be happy with it) by saying my weight is too skinny. Or anything under their weight is too skinny.
It's just really pissing me off.

I think I have had enough
Apparently, saying overweight is disgusting is a very, very bad thing that will get you flamed, and warned, but saying thin is disgusting is perfectly fine.
Nice, huh?
Edit. Yep. Fuck them all in the eye.
I really hope that none of them get to a point in their weight loss journey where they are called bony, skinny, anorexic, disgusting, or get told they look like a 12 year old boy...
Does this look like a 12 year old bony, anorexic boy to you?
I am done.
